They are very community-based (always a meeting or reading of some kind going on downstairs); and it&#039;s nice to know that they&#039;re expanding too in B&amp;N&#039;s absence. (I&#039;m a frequenter of Zaftigs--and their long, worth-the-wait wait times, so I did notice B&amp;N&#039;s departure).  Great to hear so much enthusiasm from others surrounding the Booksmith; I don&#039;t think they&#039;re going anywhere for a long time.

Since I&#039;ve moved to Cambridge, I&#039;ve visited Porter Square Books a good bit (which the article mentioned)-- they have a lovely little cafe, and nice ambiance.  They certainly don&#039;t have the selection of B&amp;N or the Booksmith, but they have a prime location and plenty of charm.
